Duo eight under ahead of final round of Kerry London Championship
Jack Senior and Stiggy Hodgson share a two-stroke lead ahead
of the final round of the Kerry London Championship at Burhill Golf Club.
The 2011 Walker Cup team mates are eight under par after the
first two rounds of the HotelPlanner.com
PGA EuroPro Tour event in Surrey, with Sam Forgan six under and three golfers
five under par.
Senior (Heysham Golf Club) already has a first and
second-place finish to his name after just three events of the 2014 season, and
is already closing in on a Challenge Tour card for 2015, awarded to the top
five golfers on the Tour’s Order of Merit at the end of the season.
He played himself into contention for his second £10,000
winner’s prize of the season with a 68 on day two on Burhill’s New Course,
matching the four-under-par he achieved on Thursday.
Hodgson (The Wisley Golf Club) signed for a five-under 67 to
move his score to eight under, thanks in large part to a fantastic first nine.
He began his second round on the tenth tee and shot five birdies and one bogey
to turn home four under, adding a fifth birdie of the round at the third.
Forgan (Stowmarket Golf Club) began the day five under and
is two behind the leaders after carding a 71 for Friday’s second round. Graeme
Clark (Doncaster Golf Club), Sam Connor (Alsager Golf & Country Club) and
Liam Robinson (Tadmarton Heath Golf Club) share fourth on five under par.
A cut to the leading 50 players and ties has now been made.
Players whose 36-hole score is level par or better will play a final 18 holes
on Saturday. Spectator entry at Burhill Golf Club is free of charge, and the
action will filmed for a two-hour highlights package to be broadcast on Sky
Sports HD on Tuesday, June 10 with repeats the following day.
